Overview

To reserve a date for a ceremony, we require a $100 non-refundable deposit. Rates quoted include a rehearsal and a certified copy of your California marriage license is included, if needed will be customized to your needs.

Celebrant Services

As mentioned previously basic ceremony services starting at $425 including the ceremony, marriage license, & certified copy of the license. If no license is needed ceremonies start at $375 and up.

Intimate Weddings

If you are organizing a last minute small wedding, please give us a day's notice to help you with your plans. Having many years of residence in Tahoe we can offer suggestions and help with the arrangements.

Elopement Choice

For elopements please call for availability. We usually can be ready within an hour! The cost of a custom elopement starts at $425. This includes the Confidential California Marriage License (available in Placer County only), ceremony, anytime, anywhere at the location of your choice. There is no waiting for this license. Champagne, flowers, photographer and any other desired touches can be added with no coordination fee, just the cost of service. Ask for details.

Marriage License Requirements

Public Licenses

You may obtain a Public California Marriage License at any county seat. The prices and hours of each office varies from county to county. You must be at least 18 years old and have a picture I.D. such as a driver's license or passport. If this is a second marriage and you have been divorced less than two years, you must bring proof of termination of your last marriage. (If you have been divorced more than two years then you will need the exact date of the termination.) The license is good for 90 days.

In Placer County the cost is $56.00 and for an additional fee of $13.00 you can receive a certified copy.

California Confidential Marriage License

Mt. High Weddings is authorized to issue Confidential California Marriage Licenses at any time! These licenses are different from public licenses in that no information can be released without the written consent of at least one of the married partners. The fee is $75 which includes a certified copy of the license. These licenses are valid only in the county in which they are issued. No witnesses are required. This is the license issued with the elopement option.
